Destination weddings & "trash the dress" photography

Untitled photo

A beach destination wedding in Riviera Maya is relaxing and stress-free, and it is oftentimes much more affordable than getting married in the United States or Canada.

Sanchez Photography & Videography can help you capture more than just your wedding day. We can also cover trash-the-dress and family activities.

Scenery

Riviera Maya weather is in the 70s or 80s year-round, meaning that you can get married any time of the year. The rainy season is from June to October, with the rainiest month being September.

The crystal blue water and white sand make an amazing backdrop for your beach wedding. You can have your reception outdoors or indoors, whatever you prefer!

By getting married in Riviera Maya, you are far enough away from the hustle and bustle of home, but you are close enough that your friends and family can get there easily by flying into Cancun.

What is Riviera Maya?

Riviera Maya consists of 85 miles of coastline from southern Cancun to Tulum. The area is known for its beaches, nature parks, archaeological sites including Mayan ruins and cenotes, and water activities.

Some of the most popular destinations in Riviera Maya are Akumal, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos, Puerto Aventuras, Cozumel, and Tulum.

Venues

Riviera Maya has something to offer everyone. Whether you are looking for an all-inclusive resort, adults-only resort, luxury hotel, or small boutique resort, you and your partner will find something that is on budget and perfect for you.

Many Riviera Maya resorts have multiple pools, bars, restaurants, and lounges. While you have everything that you could need on the property, you are also close enough to explore downtown Cancun as well.

By having a destination wedding in Riviera Maya, you do not need to worry about wedding planning. Hotel wedding packages provide couples with a wedding coordinator that will serve as their wedding planner.

Activities

There are so many activities for you to do as newlyweds or with your wedding guests.

Group

Riviera Maya is known for water sports! You can join a tour or rent a boat or yacht for your party to fish, scuba dive, snorkel, and island hop. With so many unique towns in the area, you and your group may wish to take a day trip to Tulum or Playa del Carmen. You can visit the ruins of Tulum, the Crooked Palm Tree, or go to Cenote Carwash. Playa del Carmen has a downtown area where you can dine or go shopping. Xcaret Nature Park is also close by, and it is a very popular destination for nature exploration and water activities.

Newlyweds

As newlyweds, you can take a trip to the Mayan ruins or cenotes that you cannot see anywhere else. The Ruta de los Cenotes is in Puerto Morelos, and it would be a great romantic day trip for you and your spouse. You should also take advantage of your hotel’s spa and get a couples massage. Many hotels have fine dining, and you might even be able to book a reservation if you are not staying at the hotel.
